Le monde du travail a été drastiquement affecté par la crise sanitaire du COVID-19. Des millions ont perdus leur travail en raison de la crise, d’autres ont été considérés comme des travailleurs essentiels et ont continué quand même à travailler sur site, et d’autres ont été obligés à s’adapter rapidement au télétravail.

The world of work has been dramatically affected by the COVID-19 health crisis. Millions lost their jobs due to the crisis, others were considered essential workers and continued to work on-site, and others were forced to quickly adapt to working remotely.

Les recherches estiment que même après la fin de la crise sanitaire on ne serait pas sorti de l’auberge ! Entre 20 et 25% de la force du travail dans les économies développées pourrait continuer à travailler en télétravail entre 3 et 5 jours par semaine.

Research estimates that even after the end of the health crisis we would not be out of the woods! Between 20% and 25% of the labour force in developed economies could continue to work remotely between 3 and 5 days a week.

Le télétravail représente plusieurs avantages mais comporte aussi quelques risques. D’une part, le télétravail offre la possibilité de bénéficier d’horaires plus flexibles et de travailler en dehors des locaux de l’employeur ce qui peut mener à un meilleur équilibre entre le travail et la vie personnelle. D’autre part, le télétravail peut causer un sentiment d’isolement notamment pour les personnes qui vivent seuls, et de perte de contact avec les autres employés.

Remote working has several advantages but also includes some risks. On the one hand, remote working offers the possibility of benefitting from flexible working hours and of working outside the employer’s premises, which can lead to a better balance between work and personal life. On the other hand, remote working can cause feelings of isolation, especially for people living alone, and loss of contact with other employees.

Le recours à la technologie et notamment l’intelligence artificielle est une autre tendance que la pandémie a accélérée. En automatisant certaines tâches, les personnes occupant des postes à basse qualification vont être obligés à monter en compétence pour se maintenir en emploi.  Les recherches montrent que plus de 500 employeurs sur 800 ont déjà investi dans ces technologies.

The use of technology, including artificial intelligence, is another trend that the pandemic has accelerated. By automating certain tasks, people in low-qualification jobs will be forced to upgrade their skills to maintain their posts. Research shows that more than 500 out of 800 employers have already invested in these technologies.

La crise sanitaire a déjà commencé à retracer nos façons de travailler et va surement bouleverser le futur du travail. Il est alors important d’être flexible et de s’adapter aux nouvelles tendances technologiques et structurelles qui vont redéfinir le monde du travail.

The health crisis has already begun to retrace our ways of working and will probably overturn the future of work. It is therefore important to be flexible and to adapt to the new technological and structural developments that will redefine the world of work.
